Received e-mail from systems 76 asking us what spects we wanted for new laptop
this is what the good Lady specified:
Pangolin (Pang 11) 15 inch screen
pop!_os 20.4 lts 64 bit with full disc encryption.
1x 4.0 ghz ryzen 5 5500U (2.1 up 4.o ghz-8mb cache-6 cores-12threads.
16GB Dual chanel DDR4 at 32 ghz (2x8GB)
500GB NV me seq read 2400 MB/s seq write 1750 MB/s

They will build this laptop and ship it to us in Oct.
I don't know what all of that means but I do know what most of it is. Hopefully
this will last the good lady for a few years.

the old HP is still locked up I have heard of a place near here that does work on laptops just need to find a adress for them.

I don't think "portends" is quite the right word. It is more likely a "symptom" of the pandemic. I've been seeing stuff along those lines in the news here: the automobile industry (economically one of the most important factors in Germany...) is not keeping up with their production goals because parts aren't being delivered due to production difficulties caused by the pandemic. Electronics (chips...) are amongst the most severely affected components.

The good Lady received an e-mail from system 76 saying that her laptop is ready and is being shipped. Said we would receive it Tuesday of next week and that some one needs to be home to sign for it. Big surprise for us, was not expecting it till October.
