Thinking on getting me a new printer. This one is okay but ink is getting outrageous for it now. Old HP PSC750. So was looking at the wireless ones. Figure will have to plug the usb into the pc(still running that old HP Pavilion) and then setup laptop. Now, I'm wondering on the setup. At the moment with the setup I'm using now it's hooked up to pc with a parallel cable and I need to have pc on to be able to hook up with laptop. Now, if I get a wireless printer will that still be same situation or just leave printer on and be able to print to it w/o the pc being on. I know stupid question but I've never messed with that before and want to be clear in mind on how that will work being connected to the pc like that.

Keep in mind that I've never dealt with a wireless printer but I'm 99% sure you don't have to have a "main" computer for them. They can simply be on.

Ok. Thought so but wasn't sure since the one I'm using now needs the pc on if I'm to print from the laptop. Do like the idea also printing from the cell phone also if need to.

You should be fine, as long as you do your homework.

yep. One thing is I'm going to stick with HP also. Never had any issues with HP and any of my distros being nice with each other. Saw some good ones when I was looking around at them This one prints good but ink cost is getting ridiculous. Had thought of using OEM cartridges but don't know if they'd be any good or not and sure not going to do refills and take a chance of them leaking all over the place.

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer. Therefor, they're the ones you've already been buying.

Sorry. I was thinking of where someone other than original makes and sells product.

Probably to late for this GB, but if you can do it get a laser printer. We bought the one we have about 8 years ago when the good lady was printing lots of stuff for the kids in Mexico and the school as well. The toner cost about $70.00 but last a long time. The Toner in it right now was put in 4 years ago, you can tell we are not printing much these days. When printing all those papers in Mexico a toner cartridge would last at least a year.

Thanks. I'm needing to get another all in one again. Here's a head's up for everyone. Whatever you do, don't get one of those wax cube all in ones or a wax cube printer. Might look sharp but the shit rubs off and also will smear. Trust me on that. Seen happen too many times.
