Why is that not called "The Vortex Blaster"!?

The machine probably is.

The guy's You Tube channel is "Smarter every day".

But I'm sure you knew that already... 😉

He said that himself. Nowhere in the video is the machine called the Vortex Blaster. Clearly the man is not Lensman material.

On a side note, it looks to be very similar to what happens in boiling liquid.

Yes, he doesn't even have the golden eyes thing.

The whole thing is a really fascinating demonstration or really, really complicated fluid dynamics. I think one would get through at least two pencils trying to do the math. 😉

It's weird to me. Much of what's going on there is so obvious to me. For example, the tiny rings "turn" (not really, there is no turning) because a ring cannot move sideways. If it did, it wouldn't be a ring, it would be a teardrop. Like a comet.

Further, there's a lot of Newton's physics going on. Equal and opposite reaction and such. Reasonably perfect opposing forces would clearly move at 90 degrees from their impact

So, in other words, you keep agreeing with me but it kills to do so.
