It has been cold wet and miserably gloomy here this winter more like the Oregon coast then the sunny south.

The good lady and I have had our fist jabs of the pfister vaccine will get the second on the 16 February. We are still alive and not screaming at each other in this confinement, though tired of looking at the same walls.

The good lady has informed me that she has us booked into resorts here on Hilton Head Island in Septembe, October, and December. Does this give you an idea how bored she is.

I am so happy to see this forum back up I could dance a jig. That would look silly dancing with a walker. I got a message from GB that the forum was back up the good lady was as happy as i was. A lot has happened to us in the passing years we have moved back to the U.S. I keep tripping over cobble stones and falling on my face so the good lady time to go where the pavement is level so here we are. running Sparky linux on this P6-2100 desktop

There will be a Red Hat convention of some kind in Germany any one going? reason I ask is I have a friend who will be there He is some kind of mucky muck for training Red Hat trainers. He is a nice young fellow well maybe not so young anymore I have known since he was in short pants, but that was 35 or so years ago. my good lady and his mother were collage room mates and have been friends ever since.

I have been having a weird problem installing distros on my experimental for a few months now does not happen all the time but often enough to confuse the hell out of me. when I put live DVD in the tray and restart the computer go through motions to get to the boot section, the computer will not boot from the DVD drive, it will only boot from the hard drive. The only exception to this is if I load an old Ubuntu like 10.04 then it will load from the DVD drive. After Ubuntu is loaded I can then load any of the live DVDs I have. comments anyone.

I have just finished installing Salix64-mate on the experimental. I have not done much with it yet but it sure is fast a lot faster then sparky. I think I will put Ubuntu 16.04 along side of it I have not looked at Ubuntu for several years now. I have the eyes on the upper toolbar, but do not really need them with iso it has a much larger cursor big enough even I can see it.

I had planned to tell you of this great os, unfortunatly the os is in German and I have maybe a dozen words in German. So this will have to wait untill I learn to read German.

Slax 9.4.0 64bit/32bit I looked at the 64bit. For the causual user like me there is nothing that I would use on this distro. might be good to have on a usb stick for use on other computers or as a minimal install on a old laptop with little capacty. Being based on debian you could build it up to include only the items you woul like on a distro.

I am not sure where I found this iso but my notes say it may be good for older computers, I managed to get it to run on the experimental Would do every thing except shut down. I would not even think about putting this on a older computer I don't believe there still computers old enough to run it. While loading it I saw that it was from Oracle in 1983.

Looked at True OS yesterday was going to put it on the experimental computer but it wanted to take over the computer and do away with the other distros that I have on there. Other then using tor for a browser it looks like any other distro that I have looked at in the last couple of years. so it did not get put on the experimental.
